THIS ONE FROM EASTLAKE, OHIO. THIS IS NOT A GAME, IT COSTS MONEY TO PUT A
CAR ON EBAY IN ADDITION TO THE COSTS INVOLVED WITH HOLDING A CAR AND
RELISTING IT. THIS IS HOW WE FEED OUR FAMILIES AND WE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY.

Up for bid is this unbelievable 1996 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 Police Package in a rare and desirable color. It is equipped with the legendary LT1 V8 that produces incredible power. This Caprice was just retired after 16 years with a local county fleet with ONLY 82,789 MILES. That equates to approximately 5,100 miles per year. Very few, if any Caprice’s have these kind of miles. We’re pretty sure that whoever was assigned this car cried the day it was retired. It was never marked, and never had ANY holes drilled in the body whatsoever. It was equipped with only a radio mounted on the center floor hump with a rear glass-mount antenna. It never had any interior mirror lights or deck lights and there are no holes drilled in the dash. In terms of 9C1′s, they don’t get much better than this. This is the last year, it was never marked and it is finished in a rare color for a police package car. The color is called Medium Garnet Red Metallic. In addition, this Caprice has always been in California and there is NO RUST AT ALL. The body is in very good condition with only minor door dings and scratches, still far less than most. After all, it is a 16 year old car. We had the front and rear bumpers refinished as they had faded like nearly all Caprice’s do.

The interior is in very good condition as well. The seats are in excellent condition and are cloth front and rear, unlike most with vinyl rear seats. The carpeting is in good condition but does show some wear around the driver’s heel pad. This is very common on these cars and compared to most, this one is not bad. The dashpad does have one very small (approximately 1″) crack coming off the lower corner of the defroster grille. It is hardly noticeable. The headliner, visors and package tray are in excellent condition with no rips, tears or stains. All the power windows, door locks, AM/FM stereo, heater, defroster and air conditioning work great.

These LT1 powered Caprices are always a lot of fun to drive but this 9C1 is even better. We’ve had many LT1′s over the years but this has got to be the nicest running and driving one we’ve had. There are no squeaks or rattles and it drives down the road great. It will squeak the tires between gears, although we only did it once.

We didn’t think there were any Caprice’s still in service. Most have been modified or beat by now. Here’s a limited opportunity to own an unbelievable 9C1, so don’t miss it!

shipping of the vehicle and the company chosen is the responsibility of
the buyer. We will be here to assist with the transport by supervising
the loading of the car on the truck and other details if needed. The
vehicle can be stored for up to two weeks (longer by agreement) after
full payment has been received.

guarantee that I described every physical and internal defect or flaw.
The vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or
implied. Any legal disputes must be settled within Contra Costa County (California). Please don’t have unreasonable expectations that this is a new
car. The auction could be canceled at any time, for any reason deemed by

We will do our best to assist with any international shipping, but we don’t have much information about them. It would be advisable to locate your own shipping company if you’re an over sea’s customer.

We
will be here to assist with the transport by supervising the loading of
the vehicle onto the truck, and other details as needed. Make sure you
inquire to DAS information regarding insurance coverage’s on the
vehicles they transport. The vehicle can be stored free of charge for up
to two weeks after the auction has ended, or longer with prior
notification and agreement. Vehicles left past the agreed storage date
are subject to a $15.00 per day storage fee. We are open for vehicle
pick up during the week. We are not open on the weekend, but can make an
exception with prior arrangement. Sorry but we spend weekends with our
families.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION, SALES TAX, SMOG, FEES, ETC:

We are a licensed California
auto dealer. The state requires that if you’re out of state and plan on
coming here to pick up the vehicle, you need to know that California
law REQUIRES the buyer to pay sales tax, registration, and smog fee’s if
they pick up the car and drive it away. This is still the LAW even if
you put the car on your trailer and it never touches the California
roadway. If you’re out of state, avoid can avoid all of these required
fees by having your car shipped to your state. This in most cases is
less expensive anyway by the time you figure gas, lodging, and other
expenses. If you’re an out of state buyer but picking up the vehicle and
driving home, we can reduce the state required registration to a $16.00
one trip permit, but the other fees will still apply.

If you are a California
resident, we collect sales tax, registration fee, and a $58.25 smog
inspection fee (if applicable). We then provide you with temporary registration in the
window so you can legally drive the vehicle until your title and license
plates arrive in the mail.

All
sales require a $55.00 DMV and paperwork fee. This covers the costs of
our mailings of the title, bill of sale, license plates if required, and
going to the DMV for you on your behalf.

PAYMENT INFORMATION:

Please
follow the rules of the auction after it is completed, regarding
deposit and full payment deadlines. Anyone not following through with
the auction will be reported to Ebay and NEGATIVE FEEDBACK will be left.
There is a clear title on the vehicle. A non-refundable deposit of
$500.00 must be received by me within 24 hours of the close of auction
via Paypal, money order, or cashiers check, sent via overnight express
mail. After that, full payment needs to have been received within the
next five business days of the close of auction. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL
AS PAYMENT FOR THE BALANCE DUE. In other words, full payment balance
after deposit is due 5 business days after the auction close date, and
must be paid via cash (in person only for cash), cashiers check, or
money order. If you are unable to follow the simple rules of the auction
please don’t bid. If you have questions, ask them NOW.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND TRANSFER:

There is a clear title on the car. All vehicles that are sold to California buyers that legally require a smog inspection will include it, unless otherwise stated in the auction. Any California
buyer will be responsible for all state sales tax, license and actual
smog inspection fee (if applicable). Any out of state buyer will need to contact their
own DMV office for registration and transfer information.
